Fun Fly - 9th/10th/11th July 2010
Waterford Model Flying Club are hosting a Fun Fly on the weekend of the 9th/10th/11th July
We would welcome all people to attend our event, it should be a lot of fun, everyone is welcome to attend, bring your tents, stay over in our field during the evening with plans for night flying, BBQ & Drink!
Weather Update:
07/07/2010 - We're still good to go! Bit of rain forecast for Saturday - I expect this rain to move to early Saturday AM and remain good for the weekend, light winds forecast throughout.
08/07/2010 - We're still good to go! (At least for most of it!) - We have rain forecast for most of Saturday, light rain, however it is forecast to be windy on Saturday. In the event that this is accurate, we are in the process of trying to secure a hall to do a bit of indoor flying for a couple hours on Saturday. Sunday's forecast is looking good!
09/07/2010 - UPDATE 1 - Sunday seems to be the best day of the weekend - All the forecasts are saying that it will be raining later today and tomorrow, however, they have been wrong before! We're still good to go however, if anyone is planning to arrive today or tomorrow, PLEASE let us know! (Contact details below!!)
09/07/2010 - UPDATE 2 - We are still looking into getting a indoor hall booked for a couple hours on Saturday afternoon - Bring your indoor flyers if you're down on Saturday!
Camping will be available from Friday afternoon.
Food will be available to purchase throughout the duration of the Fun Fly - all proceeds to help our club raise a few euros to develop our site!
Flying will be off-the-peg for most of the time, with some fun competitions planned throughout the days:
- Spot Landing
- Bomb Drop
- Limbo
- Balloon Chase
- Night Flying
Prizes for these competitions will be that you get to take your plane home in one piece - ie, if you crash, you lose!
